This Privacy Policy explains how Doc Scan, Scanner App, Faster Scan, Doc OCR, and Doc Fax ("we", "us", or "our") collect, use, and protect your information when you use our apps to interact with your Google Drive, Google Docs, and Google Calendar.
We are committed to safeguarding your privacy and helping you clearly understand how your information is handled. This policy specifically applies to our use of the following Google OAuth scopes:
We affirm that our applications fully complies with the Limited Use requirements outlined in the Google API Services User Data Policy, and we do not access, store, or share user data beyond the permissions granted by the user.
We also clarify that our applications do not use Google Workspace APIs or the Google Photos API, and thus the associated policies do not apply.
Scopes in use:
By authorizing these scopes, you consent to our access and use of your Google data as described in this policy.
Doc Scan, Scanner App, Faster Scan, Doc OCR, and Doc Fax are designed to help you scan, organize, and manage documents—integrated with Google Drive, Google Docs, and Google Calendar.
We only access the data that is strictly necessary to perform the specific features you choose to use, and only after you explicitly authorize the related permissions.
Here’s how we use each Google OAuth scope:
(View and manage your Google Docs documents)
This scope permits us to create, read, update, and delete Google Docs that you create or open through the app. It includes access to document content, titles, and metadata.
It also allows the app to retain access to your documents without requiring you to log in to Google Docs each time.
We use this to allow you to export scanned content directly into Google Docs format, or open existing Docs for editing or organizing. We only access documents you select or create within the app.
(See, edit, create, and delete events on your Google Calendar)
This scope enables reading and modifying your calendar events.
You can create reminders or calendar events (e.g., for follow-up tasks) from scanned content. The app only interacts with your calendar when you initiate an action—such as "Add to Calendar"—and does not access your full calendar data.
(View and manage Google Drive files and folders that you have opened or created with this app)
This scope allows us to view and manage Google Drive files that you’ve explicitly created or opened with the app. It does not give access to all your Drive files.
We use this to save scanned documents to your Drive, update files you open from Drive, or organize files and folders you've interacted with via our interface.
• We only access your Google data based on specific actions you initiate in the app.
• We do not access, view, or use your data for any background or unrelated purposes.
• We request the minimum necessary scopes required to provide the features you choose to use.
• We do not store your Google content on our servers.
We do not store your Google Drive, Google Docs, or Google Calendar content on any servers. Our apps interact directly with your Google account using the permissions you authorize.
To maintain access to your Google account, our app stores OAuth tokens locally on your device only. These tokens are encrypted and never transmitted to our servers or shared with any third parties.
We only access files you create or select within the app. No file content or metadata is stored outside your device. Any temporary data used for exporting or uploading is deleted immediately after the operation is complete.
When you choose to add an event—such as a reminder linked to a scanned document—we use your authorized access to create that event in your calendar.
We do not store your calendar data or access your existing calendar events unless you explicitly initiate the action.
For performance and user experience, we may temporarily cache some metadata (e.g., file names, timestamps) on your device. This data is never uploaded to any server and can be cleared by you at any time.
All communication between the app and Google services is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS to ensure data security during transmission.
We implement industry-standard security measures, including local encryption and access isolation, to protect sensitive data. While we strive to ensure maximum security, no electronic storage or transmission method is completely risk-free.
We do not share your Google Drive files, Google Calendar events, or any personal information accessed via Google APIs with any third parties, except in the following limited circumstances:
If we introduce a feature that requires sharing your data with another service, we will explicitly ask for your permission before doing so.
We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid legal requests from public authorities (such as a court or government agency). This includes compliance with national security or law enforcement obligations.
We do not use any third-party service providers that access, process, or store your Google Drive or Google Calendar data. All access and processing occur locally within the app and on your device.
We do not sell or trade your personal information or data from your Google account under any circumstances.
You have full control over the data accessed by Doc Scan, Scanner App, Faster Scan, Doc OCR, and Doc Fax:
You can revoke our app’s access to your Google account anytime via your Google Account security settings page (https://myaccount.google.com/permissions). Revoking access will immediately prevent our app from accessing your Google Drive, Google Docs, and Google Calendar data. Any stored authentication tokens on your device will become invalid.
You can clear any locally cached data through the app’s settings or by clearing the app data on your device.
You can access and modify your Google Drive and Google Calendar data directly through Google’s services. Our app acts as a tool to manage this data only with your permission.
